Terms and conditions

For maternity, gynaecology and ColpoCare services rendered under Network One Health. Last updated November 2024.

1. Eligibility for the maternity programme

Enrolment in our Maternity Programme is open to clients who are 26 weeks pregnant or less. Those beyond this gestational age must provide comprehensive prenatal care records for evaluation. An assessment fee is applicable in such cases, and a surcharge may be added for the development of a personalised care plan. Our programme includes dedicated sessions with an Advanced Midwife, Doula, Obstetrician and Sonographer, tailored to ensure optimal care and support.

2. Client health requirements

Cash-paying clients are advised that our standard services are designed for individuals without pre-existing serious medical conditions or complications. Such conditions might necessitate specialised care, which goes beyond the scope of our programmes. We prioritise the safety and well-being of our clients by ensuring that care needs align with our capabilities.

3. Midwife/nurse-led care suitability

We offer discounted pricing for clients suitable for nurse/midwife-led care. This approach is part of our commitment to providing flexible and personalised care pathways. Clients whose care necessitates or transitions to specialist-led involvement will be subject to a revised pricing structure, reflecting the enhanced level of care and expertise provided.

4. Additional charges for complications

In the event that a client develops complications that are manageable within our programme's scope, there may be additional charges. These charges cover extra tests, visits, or scans needed to adequately manage the complication, ensuring continued high-quality care.

5. Multidisciplinary team approach

Our approach to care is rooted in a multidisciplinary team model, coordinated by a Lead Midwife. This structure ensures comprehensive and cohesive care, and clients are required to consent to this team-based approach.

6. Newborn medical aid requirement

It is mandatory for newborns of cash-paying clients to have medical aid coverage from birth. This policy is crucial for ensuring that the cost of newborn care is covered. If medical aid is not secured by 34 weeks of pregnancy, we will guide clients to alternative care providers.

7. Global fee and payment schedule — maternity

A Global Fee, encompassing all aspects of our comprehensive maternity care, is due by the 34th week of pregnancy. Timely payment ensures the reservation and allocation of the necessary resources and facilities for delivery. This fee structure is part of our commitment to providing transparent and predictable billing for our clients.

8. Referral for unaffordable complications

Should complications develop that are beyond a client's financial capacity to manage privately, we will assist in providing referrals to public sector services, so that all clients have access to the necessary care regardless of their financial situation.

9. Gynaecology and ColpoCare services

Our practice encompasses a broad spectrum of services, including preventive care, diagnosis and management of gynaecological conditions. Specific terms, including fees and care pathways, are tailored based on individual assessments and needs.

10. Cash-based practice notice

As a cash-based practice, we require payment for services at the time they are delivered. Clients are responsible for ensuring timely and full settlement of their fees.

11. Deposit and cancellation policy

A non-refundable deposit of R1,000 is required to secure an appointment. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time to avoid forfeiture of the deposit. This policy is designed to ensure efficient scheduling and resource allocation.

12. Client responsibility for communication and banking details

Clients are responsible for informing us of any changes in their communication or banking details, so that communication and financial transactions stay accurate. Refunds, when applicable, may take up to 10 working days to process.
