The journey

Five stages, start to finish.

  1. RegisterRegister online in a few minutes. The best time is between weeks 8 and 12, but you can register at any stage and we will fit the plan to where you are.
  2. Your booking visitHistory, blood tests and a scan. We check your risk at this first visit and agree your care plan. Your price for the whole episode is confirmed after the week-12 assessment.
  3. Antenatal careScheduled visits and scans through your pregnancy. A midwife leads your care when your pregnancy is low risk. An obstetrician reviews you when it is needed, on written criteria, not guesswork.
  4. Your birthYou deliver with the team at the partner hospital, which has full surgical and neonatal facilities on site.
  5. After the birthPostnatal care to six weeks for you and your baby, including a Pap smear through ColpoCare. Then we hand you back to your own doctor with a full record.

Who looks after you

A team, each doing what they do best.

A midwife leads your care when your pregnancy is low risk, and sees you at most of your visits. An obstetrician leads the complex decisions and steps in on written criteria. A care coordinator is your single point of contact: education, reminders, and support after the birth. Your newborn is covered by a paediatrician, who bills separately.

What it costs

One price, agreed upfront.

It is one agreed price for the whole episode, not an open-ended fee-for-service bill. Your price is confirmed after the week-12 assessment and varies by site. Cash and medical-aid pathways are available, and Discovery members can use the global fee where it applies.

Where

Delivered at hospitals with full facilities.

You deliver at our partner hospital in your city, with comprehensive surgical and neonatal facilities on site, so complications and emergencies are managed where you are. See our sites for locations and phone numbers.
